Recipe Time ~Cookies~

Hi! here I am with my blog again. in my last post I told I will change my blog name this week. But I couldn't figure out a new name for my blog yet. I also think to change my blog appearance so tell me what you like and what should I change in my blog. I like to hear your ideas.

So today I'm going to share one of the recipe we tried at home lately. If you've been reading my blog from the beginning you'll know that I love to test and try different recipes. check out my Recipe Time posts here. Since it is Holiday month I thought it would be great to share this recipe because you can make this for your kids.

It's about Basic Sugar cookies on my Recipe Time series today. I found this recipe on Fauzia's Kitchen fun website which is one of my favorite food site. I also searched some other recipes on internet but this seems easiest and since its called Basic Sugar Cookies we thought to try it as this is our first cookie try out. WE means me and my sister. I should mention that my sister did the whole cooking proses and I only helped her to find the recipe. however, we both like to try new recipes together.

I will only mention the ingredients list here. You can find the recipe on www.fauziaskitchenfun.com.

Basic Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  • 225gm margarine/butter, room temperature
  • 200gm sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 360gm all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp.salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla essence or almond extract

you may add chocolate spreading and nuts for garnishing if you like.
make sure not to add salt or just add less salt than the recipe if  Margarine/ Butter you are using is not unsalted. because our cookies turn out bit salty. But anyway I love it because it made our tea time special. I will try some more cookies recipes soon. beacuse I love homemade stuffs. I will share them through my Recipe Time posts.

Have a nice day!!

feel a sweet bite of Coconut Toffee

Coconut toffee is in top of my most favourite sweets. usually I never refuse to take a bite and taste any of sweet dish. as same as I love sweets, you have no idea how much spices I need to my spicy dishes. well that was a hot topic. today I need to be sweet and calm. so I took countless bites from my homemade Coconut toffees. a quick an easy dish to make. a bite of sweetness with crush of coconuts. perfect for surprise your surprise visitors.

Lets see How it made..
No lot ingrediants..
1 cup finely grated coconut
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
pinch of grounded cardamom
bit of salt
food colouring (Gentle Pink or Green look awesome)

mix the sugar, grated coconut and water in a deep pan over medium heat. let the mixer boil and give a stir now and then. meanwhile get a baking or anything with a little grease of butter on it. add food colouring to the boiling mixer and mix well. stir salt and grounded cardomom.
adding a bit of salt (a very little bit) to sweets will help to get a rich flavour of sweetness.
when the mixture reaches a soft ball consistency, pour the mixture into the baking pan or something which you already prepared. let it cool and cut into pieces.
I never stay until it cools. so I took first few bites before it ready to serve. hehe. it will vanish withing hour or so. try it, taste it and you'll definetly gonna love it.
And
Don't forget to tell me your favourite sweets recipies..

Break The Silent

For the past few days I've been so silent on blogging and even on my facebook. I never been like that.I can't tolerate it anymore, so I thought this is the time to break my silent. but believe me that break is for an actual reason. :)

How was my Ramzan festival

you know last week we muslims completed our ramzan fasting and celibrate our festival. well actually even I have reasons to say this is my happiest ramzan, I can't say this is my best eid(festival) as long as it is without my whole family. me and my husband felt it hard. but thank god we got some wonderful friends like a family. we went to beach for a BBQ night and play games and had lots of fun. and the next day was dead tired so slept whole day.

What was my Eid special

I made some sweets gulab jamun, sweet and spicy bites, Wattalapan (a favourite dessert of sri lankan muslims..steamed pudding made from egg, coconut milk and jaggery.)

What I did after ramzan

Nothing, but sleeping. nowadays I always looking for a sleep as I frequently feel exhausted.
and this weekend we again went to a BBQ night at beach. this time we spent there till sunrise. at 9.00 a.m we reached the home and slept like nothing.

What I am up to now

Well, having some posts on mind. Hope I can post them soon. looking forward to shop some products I need. under eye treatment, face scrub and moisturizing lotion is in top of the list.
